2 days sounds a little short. I think it should probably be a hard 1 week limit for uploads, and if they can't make it into the main gallery by then, just trash them.
i agree on him approving pictures but fuck the 2 day time limit. that would make this site suck. The best part about this site is that you can upload and have favs pic. It beat the point of half this site, Cause everything you mark as a fav would be gone

the backlog problem has been solved already billabong...catch up. the time limit also comes into play

It was just a suggestion, with an example of how it could be used. I doubt that it would ever be used anyway. So you don't have to worry about voting for all that uploading u do Eye.
The uploaders don't need to be told how much to vote, they are most likely already voting as much as they want, i don't think you need to put restrictions on how many photos they can upload. they are contributing the most to this site

it takes longer than 5 minutes for the average to vote 50 pics, more like 10 minutes. and for someone uploading 50 pics that would be 500 to 1000 votes in order to do so

How is that not fair to the uploader? So YOU want to upload, but not vote? I upload, and vote, its not hard. It would take you about 5 min to vote for 50 pics.

I agree. I find it hard to find the pics I haven't voted on, when the random feature just feeds you pics you've voted on already.
could there be something where when you login and view "my uploads" it orders the uploads as most recently commented on?

Admin: can you update the voting rules to add something like "if a pic gets to 0-10 votes, it gets removed"? I'm thinking that could be a sign and solve some backlog issues.
